Zoom Webinar
6 – 7:30 PM

Join the Sacred Grounds team for Bees, Butterflies, and Blessings, a special virtual event where you can learn about native pollinators (like bumblebees and monarch butterflies), native plants (like milkweed and coneflower), and how providing homes for our native wildlife can support your community. We’ll hear from Janique Hinson, a native plant gardener and member of the New Pentecostal United Holy Church in Wilmington DE, and David Mizejewski, Naturalist at the National Wildlife Federation, and share information about the Sacred Grounds program, which supports faith communities that create wildlife habitat and actively link their faith practices to caring for the environment. All About Native Bees
Garden for Wildlife™ Virtual Live Stream
6 PM ET / 3 PM PT
Celebrate World Bee Day with Garden for Wildlife! Bees are our most important pollinators, but they are often misunderstood. While the agriculturally important honey bee gets the spotlight, our native bees are actually the ecological powerhouses of the ecosystem.
In this special interactive session, David will bust common myths and reveal the fascinating biology and behavior of native bees. Just in time for National Pollinator Month, you will learn:
- Why “saving the bees” isn’t just about honey bees.
- Surprising facts about native bee behavior in your backyard.
- How to plant a garden that supports them and get it recognized as a Certified Wildlife Habitat® by the National Wildlife Federation.
